Over the past six months, ʻŌlelo has trained students and faculty from the University of Hawaii System who took part in the Hawaiian Center’s Ka Ipu Hoʻokele Waʻa: Indigenous Digital Storytelling Project. Through a series of workshops in Creative Media, Video Production, Studio Broadcasting, and Editing, students learned hands-on skills that align with ʻŌlelo’s mission to boost Native Hawaiian student engagement and professional development through a culturally relevant curriculum that explores digital literacy and storytelling through an Indigenous lens.
