YXC 2027 Submissions
Learn how to prepare and submit your entry for Hawai‘i’s statewide student video competition.
Submission Process
Follow this checklist to plan your project and make sure your YXC 2027 entry is ready before visiting the YXC Upload Portal.
Register when you submit your completed video.
Review the Rules
- Read the general rules, regulations, and guidelines for the YXC 2027 competition.
- Confirm that your idea and participants meet all eligibility requirements.
Plan Your Video
- Choose the General Category that best fits your video.
- Choose a topic that highlights an issue or story that matters to Hawai‘i youth.
- Outline your story and plan your locations, interviews, b-roll, graphics, and other production needs.
Produce Your Project
- Record your footage and audio according to the competition rules.
- Edit your project so that your message is visually and verbally clear.
- Finally, confirm that your video meets the YXC 2027 content and technical guidelines.
Upload Before the Deadline
- When submissions open, upload your completed video through the YXC Upload Portal.
- Submit your entry by the official YXC 2027 deadline for consideration.
Submitting Your YXC 2027 Entry
Once your project is complete, follow these steps to prepare your video file and submit it through the YXC Upload Portal.
Prepare Your Video
- Export your video using the H.264 codec.
- Use an MP4, MOV, or M4V file.
- Export your video at 1080p HD using the default bit rate.
- Keep the file size under 1GB to support a smoother upload.
Open the Upload Portal
- When submissions open, visit the YXC Upload Portal.
- Select the appropriate contest to open its submission form.
Complete the Submission Form
- Entry identification and photo: Enter your title, school or organization, division, category, and the names of all participating students.
- Upload your team or individual photo when requested.
- Video upload: Attach your exported video and confirm that you selected the correct file.
Confirm Your Submission
- Select Submit and wait for the confirmation screen.
- Save, print, or screenshot the confirmation for your records.
- If you do not receive confirmation or encounter an upload issue, email youthxchange@olelo.org .
Before You Select “Submit”
- Confirm that all student names are spelled correctly and match how they should appear on awards.
- Confirm that you selected the correct division and category.
- Review your teacher or advisor information for accuracy.
- Make sure you have permission and clearances for all music, images, and footage used in your video.
