ACM Alumni Reps ‘Ōlelo

On September 15, Māpunapuna Community Media Associate Corinne Makahilahila and Community Relations Manager Eloise Harris were invited to speak about ‘Ōlelo at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa’s Academy for Creative Media (ACM).  Corinne, an alumni of the ACM program, had this to say:

“It was an honor to attend ACM’s Orientation, and to have the opportunity to outline some of resources that ‘Ōlelo has to offer.  Being a graduate of the ACM program at UH Mānoa, it was a joy to see some of my amazing professors, as well as to connect with the students as someone who has been in their shoes.  ‘Ōlelo is a great opportunity for students and up and coming filmmakers, as we provide equipment, growth opportunities, and community, especially for those who are planning to stay in Hawaiʻi, and not move to the mainland.  The theme of the ACM night was Faith, Hope, and Love, and our message with ‘Ōlelo fit right in.  It will be fun to see how many students use our resources, and make connections that will help them with their future projects!”
