Waipahu Prepares Today to Survive Tomorrow

“Prepare Today…Survive Tomorrow” was this year’s theme for the 7th Annual Ewa Emergency Preparedness Fair, presented by the Ewa Emergency Preparedness Committee.  This annual event is held every September in response to two unexpected disasters that struck the Ewa community seven years ago that the left the residence with out power for several days.

Students from Pearl City Highlands Elementary (Kacie Arakaki, Felix Bak, Rasia Bergrillo, Theodore Sepulveda and teacher Karen Ching-Hew) and Waipahu High School (Nadine Castillo) help document this timely event as the nation was hit with Hurricane Harvey in Texas, Irma in Florida, and most recently Maria in Puerto Rico.
