Volunteers
Hawai‘i has a long-standing tradition of volunteerism. ‘Ōlelo Community Television is a proud example of the islands' volunteer ethic. ‘Ōlelo volunteers are involved in exciting, important work that helps them learn and grow--and they meet new people and have fun, too. Creating a program can be time-consuming and labor-intensive with a constant need for volunteers to help on productions. Whether you're lending general production help, acting as on- camera talent or doing any one of a dozen tasks, you'll find volunteering for non-commercial television can be very rewarding.

If you don't know the first thing about running a camera or how to light a subject, ‘Ōlelo will be happy to train you. But don't let the technical aspects scare you: there are any number of ways you can help without having a degree in broadcast televsion. And when you start producing your own programs, you'll be grateful to have a band of capable volunteers willing to help you. If you are not interested in technical training, but you would still like to help make a television show or volunteer at one of ‘Ōlelo's Community Media Centers, give one of the centers a call.

It's easy to get started as a volunteer, call one of our CMCs and let them know you're interested!
