As stewards of free speech and empowering community voice, ‘Ōlelo Community Media celebrated National Free Speech Week — October 22 through 28, 2018.  We invited our passionate clients and volunteers into our studios to share their thoughts on what the First Amendment means to them as a way to showcase the diverse voices and opinions of our island community.

Governor’s Proclamation

Governor David Ige and Lt. Governor Douglas Chin have proclaimed October 22-28, 2018 as “Free Speech Week” in Hawai’i and ask the people of the Aloha State to join them in recognizing the importance of protecting our right to free speech, the integrity of free press, and social responsibility to speak up as well as to listen to others’ voices.
