On Saturday, May 19, ‘Ōlelo Community Media participated in the 40th Annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk.
The Charity Walk began at Ala Moana Park’s McCoy Pavilion, continued on Ala Moana Boulevard and along the Ala Wai Promenade, then down Kalakaua Avenue heading into Waikiki, turning around on Paoakalani Street. The walk then proceeded along the makai side of Kalakaua Avenue, go south/makai on Lewers Street, along Kalia Road towards the Hilton Hawaiian Village, and then back to McCoy Pavilion on Ala Moana Boulevard.
Our participation in the 2018 Charity Walk yielded support from 53 ‘Ōleloans—staff, family, and friends combined. In total, we helped by raising about $1,800.00 to benefit Hawai’i’s non-profit organizations. Additionally, members of our team who served as Course Marshalls put in a total of 24 service hours.
